Guests: Our Favorite People

We are both so lucky to be loved by so many friends and family members. However, we were limited in how many people we could host at the venue. Please see your RSVP cards for how many seats were reserved for you and yours. Be sure to mail back the RSVP cards by August 17, 2026 (we love getting mail!).

While we absolutely adore our nieces, nephews, and all younger family members, we are hosting an adults-only celebration. We hope you will still be able to join us on this special night!

Still scrolling? Here’s some history.

Like most stately buildings in Connecticut, The Burr Mansion has a history (and yes, the original builder of the house was related to Aaron Burr, sir, of both American history and Hamilton musical fame).

The Burrs often had famous guests over: Aaron Burr (told ya), Sam Adams (beer guy?), and even George Washington. At the Burr Mansion, John Hancock of the Large-Signature-Hancocks married Dorothy Quincy in 1775. In 1779, the mansion burnt down during a very interesting time period: the Burning of Fairfield (Cathy will look into what happened then and fill you all in later!). John Hancock convinced the Burrs to rebuild their home, which was completed in 1790.

For us, this mansion has a beautiful outdoor space, full of things we love: gorgeous, old trees; long, trailing vines of ivy; and a lovely garden to walk through. We visited first in the fall of 2025 and fell in love with everything about it. Truly, we can’t wait to see you there to celebrate our wedding!
